For many years toll collectors on turnpikes and bridges have been subjected to health hazards from engine exhaust fumes. NASA's Technology Applications Team at Stanford searched available information and suggested a transfer of clean room technology employing use of laminar flow technique. Draft free design includes diffusor" which blows clean air out of toll booth doorway retarding the infiltration of contaminated air. Net effect is a decrease in toll collector's inhalation of exhaust fumes."
